How It All Began

How it all began

Well this is the story of how we became involved with the German pointer.

It all started when Graham said he would like a dog that he could train for the gun so he could take it along to his dad's shoot in Pangbourne, he mentioned that a Springer would probably be his choice, well not mine i can tell you!!! all that hair, bringing home most of the field with it!, no thanks.

The next step was to find a good reputable breeder, so i called the German Shorthaired Pointer Club, and they kindly gave me a few names of breeders with puppies. Soon enough i had spoken to a breeder not to far from me(Jackie Cowan of the Jazaraz kennel), and was invited to come and meet her and her dogs, after a couple of hours of questions on both sides it was decided that i was a suitable person for the breed.

A few weeks later the day arrived to collect our new bundle of fun and mayhem, still Graham had no idea what i had been up to, as at the time he was working the most appalling hours so we hardly ever saw each other. Well it was late afternoon Graham was home, and i told him i was going out and i would see him later, i can't remember even where i told him i was going but off i went.

A couple of hours later i arrived home, knocked on the door and presented Graham with Jazaraz Jasmin (Jasmin), what is it he asked!!, a German shorthaired pointer, it can do everything a Springer can do and alot more, well that was the start of a fantastic adventure, some good, and some very frustrating moments.

The very next day Graham started the training, we where at the time living a a stud farm, so had free access to all types of terrain including water, so this was a great start to Jasmin's training. We went on to do everything with Jasmin, working, showing and even agility. She had 3 beautiful litters, and produced me my first JW winner (Indijazz Azara JW) and the foundation to carry on producing some excellent stock.

Jasmine has now sadly passed away but will allways be with us with our generations to come.
